Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of medical duties, including:
- Providing comprehensive hospital medical services related to various conditions, including paediatrics, maternal health, and both routine and emergency surgical procedures.
- Offering and supervising health education services and supporting community health improvement within the District, Region, or assigned work area.
- Investigating, monitoring, and preventing disease outbreaks.
- Collecting, maintaining, and using health statistics in accordance with MTUHA guidelines.
- Planning and evaluating health services within the assigned work area.
- Training students and staff working in the assigned facility or area.
- Supervising and providing guidance to junior staff under their leadership.
- Designing and conducting research and sharing research findings.
- Developing and preparing strategies to improve the quality of professional health services.
- Preparing plans and budget estimates for health services.
- Participating in medical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a university/college recognized by the Government.
- Must have successfully completed internship training.
- Must have full registration from the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
