About the Role

The Learning & Development Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring training programs, leadership initiatives, and performance culture strategies. Key Responsibilities

1. Learning & Development Strategy

  • Develop and implement the annual L&D plan aligned with organizational goals
  • Conduct Training Needs Assessments (TNA) using data-driven approaches
  • Design programs that enhance digital skills, editorial excellence, leadership, and commercial performance
  • Measure training effectiveness through KPIs, ROI frameworks, and performance outcomes

2. Competency Framework & Talent Development

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s competency framework
  • Integrate competencies into recruitment, performance management, and promotions
  • Support talent reviews and identify capability gaps across departments

3. Leadership Development

  • Design structured programs for emerging leaders and senior managers
  • Manage 360-degree assessments and coach managers on development plans
  • Support succession planning through targeted learning pathways

4. Performance Culture & Engagement

  • Support rollout and improvement of the Employee Performance Management System (EPMS)
  • Align KPIs, behaviors, and competencies across teams
  • Facilitate engagement initiatives such as Lunch & Learn sessions and team development programs

5. Learning Management System (LMS)

  • Develop and manage digital learning content
  • Track learner progress, certifications, and analytics
  • Expand e-learning opportunities to improve accessibility and reduce costs

6. Training Coordination

  • Oversee end-to-end training execution
  • Coordinate with facilitators, vendors, and internal stakeholders

7. Knowledge Management

  • Create toolkits, playbooks, and policies for learning and development
  • Maintain a centralized repository of learning materials
  • Promote knowledge-sharing and retention across the organization

8. Compliance & Audit Support

  • Maintain accurate training records and compliance documentation
  • Support audits related to HR and employee development
  • Ensure all programs meet regulatory and company standards

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The success of the Learning & Development Specialist will be measured through:

  • Completion rate of the annual L&D plan
  • Training participation across departments
  • Effectiveness of training programs (Kirkpatrick Level 1 & 2 evaluations)
  • Improvement in employee performance and reduction of skill gaps
  • Adoption and effectiveness of the performance management system
  • LMS utilization and training cost efficiency
  • Leadership pipeline readiness and succession outcomes

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, or a related field
  • Professional certifications in Learning & Development, Talent Management, or Coaching are an added advantage

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in Learning & Development, Talent Management, or Organizational Development
  • Proven ability to design and deliver impactful training programs
  • Experience in performance management systems and competency frameworks
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or digital learning tools
