The Municipal Director of Kahama Municipal Council has officially announced employment opportunities for qualified Tanzanians to fill three (03) vacant positions. The recruitment has been approved by the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance, Kahama Municipal Council Announces 3 Driver II Vacancies (TGS B) February 2026, These opportunities are available within Kahama Municipal Council under the following post:
1. Driver Grade II – 3 Positions
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for the following duties:
- Inspecting the vehicle before and after every trip to ensure it is safe and roadworthy
- Transporting council staff to various work-related destinations
- Performing minor vehicle repairs when necessary
- Delivering and distributing official documents when required
- Recording and maintaining all trip details in the vehicle logbook
- Keeping the vehicle clean at all times
- Performing any other duties assigned by the employer
2. Qualifications and Requirements
To qualify for the Driver Grade II position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must have at least a Form Four (Ordinary Level) education
- Must possess a valid Driving License Class C or E
- Must have at least one (1) year of driving experience without causing accidents
- Must have a certificate that qualifies them for the relevant driving license class
- Must have attended and completed a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA or any other government-recognized institution
3. Salary Scale
The salary for this position is under the government pay scale:
- TGS B

- Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens, aged 18 to 45 years

- Form Four or Form Six certificates
- Professional certificates (where applicable)

- NECTA verification for Form Four/Six certificates
- TCU verification for university/college qualifications obtained abroad

- Any applicant found submitting forged documents will face legal action in accordance with national laws
- Applicants dismissed from public service are not allowed to apply unless they have official permission from the Chief Secretary
- Applicants whose names differ across documents must attach a registered Deed Poll from the Ministry of Lands
