Important Application Guidelines

Applicants must follow specific requirements when submitting their applications:

  • Candidates must submit the new Z83 application form together with a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • Copies of qualifications and supporting documents are not required at the initial application stage, but will be requested from shortlisted candidates.
  • The new Z83 form can be obtained from any Public Service Department or downloaded from the government website.
  • Applications using the old Z83 form will not be considered.
  • The application form must be fully completed, signed, and initialled. Failure to sign may result in disqualification.
  • Sections A, B, C, and D of the Z83 are compulsory. Sections E, F, and G are optional if a CV is attached, but the question under Part F regarding conditions preventing re-appointment must be answered.

Applicants with foreign qualifications must provide an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority when shortlisted.

Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (NQF Level 7) in:
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Procurement
    • Logistics
  • 3–5 years of experience in logistics management at a supervisory level
  • A valid driver’s license

Knowledge Requirements

Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of:

  • LOGIS procurement system
  • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
  • National Treasury Regulations
  • Supply Chain Management policies and procedures

Key Duties

The successful candidate will:

  • Coordinate procurement processes for goods and services

  • Oversee stock control and inventory monitoring
  • Conduct stock-taking exercises and reconcile inventory records
  • Identify obsolete or redundant items and coordinate their disposal
  • Ensure compliance with supply chain regulations and document management systems
  • Supervise employees and manage performance within the logistics unit
  • Maintain accurate records and safeguard procurement documentation

2. Senior Labour Relations Officer

Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in:
    • Human Resource Management
    • Labour Relations
    • Law
  • 3–5 years of experience in a labour relations environment
  • A valid driver’s license

Knowledge Requirements

Applicants should be familiar with:

  • Labour Relations Act
  • Employment Equity Act
  • Basic Conditions of Employment Act
  • Public Service Regulations
  • Public Service Act
  • Collective bargaining processes within the public service

Technical Competencies

  • Interviewing and investigation skills
  • Strong report writing abilities

  • Willingness to work overtime and be on standby
  • Ability to handle a firearm or willingness to undergo competency testing

Key Duties

The Senior Labour Relations Officer will:

  • Manage grievance and misconduct cases within the department
  • Represent IPID at dispute resolution forums such as the CCMA and other bargaining councils
  • Provide guidance to employees and management on labour relations issues
  • Assist in developing labour relations policies and procedures
  • Conduct training sessions on disciplinary processes and labour legislation
  • Coordinate departmental bargaining chamber meetings
  • Maintain case management records and compile labour relations reports
