Job Objective

To implement key Human Resources initiatives aimed at enhancing the employee work-life cycle and improving staff performance through training and development, ultimately contributing to improved overall organizational performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Performance Management

  • Follow up on the preparation and completion of KPIs for all staff.
  • Monitor staff performance and manage poor performers.
  • Monitor and manage employee confirmations based on performance.
  • Prepare performance-related monthly and annual reports.

Training and Development

  • Prepare the annual training plan.
  • Identify training needs for all staff and develop training programs accordingly.
  • Implement the Bank’s training plan within the approved budget.
  • Serve as a learning champion and coordinate staff learning opportunities through UBA Academy.
  • Prepare monthly and annual training reports.

HR Policies and Compliance

  • Support the Head HCM in aligning HR policies and procedures with statutory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to staff policies and HR procedures across the Bank.
  • Consult and train employees and line managers on staff policy and HR-related procedures.

HR Operations and Employee Relations

  • Manage staff data and employee movements, including promotions and transfers.
  • Coordinate and implement wellness programs for staff.
  • Participate in planning and organizing employee engagement activities.
  • Ensure notice periods for exiting staff comply with employment contracts.
  • Prepare acceptance of resignation letters and coordinate exit interviews with the Head of HR.
  • Ensure clearance procedures are properly followed.

Payroll and Benefits Administration

  • Process monthly payroll and prepare statutory reports and payments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll data for new hires, exits, and employee changes.
  • Administer employee benefits such as:
    • Medical insurance
    • Pension schemes
    • Group life cover
    • Other staff benefits

HR Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain HR reports on:
    • Recruitment
    • Turnover
    • Leave
    • Training
    • Key HR metrics

Disciplinary and Investigations

  • Administer disciplinary processes in line with the Bank’s disciplinary policy and labour laws.
  • Support investigations into misconduct, ethical breaches, fraud concerns, and policy violations in collaboration with Compliance, Risk, and Internal Audit.
  • Coordinate disciplinary hearings, issue notices and warnings, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Track disciplinary trends and recommend preventive measures.

Other

  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Minimum Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Humanities (or a related field)
