The National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) has officially announced the results of the Form Four examinations, which were conducted from November 17, 2025. The results were released today, Saturday, January 31, 2026, by NECTA’s Executive Secretary, Professor Said Mohammed.
Overview of Candidates
A total of 569,883 students sat for the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) in 5,864 schools, while 25,927 private candidates registered across 813 centers. According to NECTA’s Executive Secretary, Dr. Said Mohammed, the number of candidates in 2025 represents a 7.67% increase compared to 2024. Of the 569,914 school candidates, 266,024 were boys (47%) and 303,859 were girls (53%).
Attendance and Performance
Examination attendance stood at 97.5%, equivalent to 555,606 students. Statistics indicate that the overall pass rate increased by 2.61%, reaching 94.98%, with 526,620 candidates successfully passing with grades I, II, III, or IV. Candidates who achieved grades I to III totaled 255,404, representing 46.1% of all candidates, reflecting an improvement in high-grade performance compared to previous years.
