This is a permanent employment opportunity based at the Mbeya Plant, reporting directly to the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Manager. This role is ideal for an experienced mechanical engineer who is passionate about reliability, predictive maintenance, and modern condition monitoring techniques within the cement manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and managing effective condition monitoring and predictive maintenance systems across the plant. Major duties include:
- Setting up and managing condition monitoring systems (CM/PdM) including data collection, trending, and maintaining equipment history.
- Creating inspection routes, monitoring route compliance, and ensuring proper use of inspection checklists by inspectors.
- Conducting first-level walk-by inspections on assigned routes and recording observations using approved checklists.
- Collecting vibration data by gauging plant equipment, taking readings, analyzing results, and documenting findings.
- Analyzing data from condition monitoring tools such as:
- Vibration analysis
- Thermography
- Oil analysis
- Ultrasonic testing
- Detecting equipment degradation and forecasting possible failures before breakdowns occur.
- Working closely with IT to integrate monitoring tools with existing systems.
- Identifying and scouting new technologies to improve predictive maintenance.
- Training staff and promoting a strong reliability and performance culture across the plant.

Qualifications Required
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
- Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in the clinker and cement manufacturing industry
Technical and Behavioral Competencies
Applicants must demonstrate the following skills and competencies:
- Strong knowledge of vibration analysis
- Skills in fan balancing and machine alignment
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Competence in collecting and analyzing vibration data
- Ability to recommend improved tools for preventive and predictive maintenance
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
