About AVBOB INSETA Learnerships 2026 / 2027
AVBOB, in partnership with INSETA, is offering a 12-month Long Term Insurance Learnership Programme. The learnership is aimed at young South Africans who want to gain theoretical knowledge and practical workplace experience in the insurance sector. This is a structured work-based learning programme that includes learning through an accredited training provider and practical experience in the workplace.
What Is a Learnership?
A learnership is a structured work-based learning programme that combines:
- Theoretical learning
- Practical workplace experience
- Training through an accredited training provider
- Skills development linked to a registered qualification
Successful learners will gain exposure to the long-term insurance industry while developing workplace skills.
Programme Duration
The AVBOB INSETA Learnership Programme will run for a period of 12 months.
Monthly Stipend
A monthly allowance or stipend will be paid to learners for the duration of the learnership.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be South African citizens
- Must have a valid Grade 12 / Matric certificate
- Must have completed English as a Matric subject
- Must have completed Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy or Accounting as a Matric subject
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 35
- Must not have attended any previous learnership
- Must not be registered with another academic institution
- Must not be engaged in any other studies
- Must have a reliable mode of transport
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to show initiative
Advantageous Requirements
The following will be advantageous:
- Smartphone or laptop
- Computer skills
- Microsoft Office knowledge
- Email and internet skills
Who Should Apply?
This learnership is suitable for unemployed youth who:
- Want to build a career in the insurance sector
- Have completed Grade 12
- Are willing to learn and gain workplace experience
- Are not currently studying
- Have not previously participated in a learnership
- Are between 18 and 35 years old
