Position Overview
Unitrans is seeking a dedicated Assistant Financial Manager to support the company’s financial management and decision-making processes. Reporting directly to the Financial Manager, this role plays a pivotal part in ensuring efficient financial operations, safeguarding company assets, and optimizing processes across all departments. The ideal candidate will combine technical accounting expertise with strong leadership and analytical skills, contributing to the company’s financial integrity and operational excellence.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Assist in preparing and presenting annual budgets.
- Develop monthly management reports and quarterly forecast packs.
- Monitor and report on financial performance on a monthly basis.
Accounting & Compliance
- Facilitate internal and external audit activities in line with group policies.
- Ensure all financial processes, dealings, and records comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Guarantee adherence to accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
Standards & Controls
- Develop and maintain accounting and financial policies and controls.
- Ensure accurate recording of all transactions.
- Verify proper authorization and processing of expenses and commitments.
Minimum Requirements
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent Advanced Diploma.
- Registered member of the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA).
- Proficiency in IFRS and TFRS standards.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and integrated accounting systems such as Sage ERP or SAP ERP.
- Advantage: Certification in Internal Auditing or specific accounting systems.
Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience within a Multinational Corporation (MNC).
- Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws and regulatory requirements.
- High accuracy, analytical thinking, and effective multi-deadline management.
- Fluent in English.
