Minimum Requirements
Applicants interested in the Transnet Work Integrated Learning Programme must meet the following requirements:
- Have Matric or an equivalent qualification.
- Have completed all theoretical subjects from N4 to N6 in Office Management, Management Assistant or Business Management at a TVET College.
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Not have a bursary obligation with another company.
- Provide the most recent confirmation letter from the institution.
- Provide a certified Matric certificate.
- Provide an academic record.
- Provide a certified copy of an ID.
Preference may be given to suitably qualified persons with disabilities.
Work Integrated Learning Responsibilities
- Successful candidates will be placed within different departments or work streams at Transnet, where they will receive practical exposure and workplace training.
- Depending on their placement, participants may assist with administrative activities, projects, documentation, reporting and routine operational tasks under supervision.
- The programme may also provide opportunities to participate in research, data collection and analysis, presentations, process improvement initiatives, training and mentorship activities.
- This practical exposure is intended to help participants strengthen their workplace skills and gain a better understanding of professional operations within Transnet.
Learning and Development
The WIL programme combines practical workplace exposure with structured learning and mentorship. Participants may work alongside experienced employees, take part in workplace activities and develop important skills such as problem-solving, analytical thinking, communication and professional conduct.
The experience gained during the 18-month programme can also help participants build their practical knowledge and improve their readiness for future employment opportunities.
