Department of Transport Vacancies
1. Deputy Director-General: State-Owned Companies (SOC), Governance Assurance and Performance (GAP)

Salary: R1,885,710 – R2,124,237 per annum (Level 15), with 30% potentially structured according to individual needs
Location: Pretoria
- Applicants must have an NQF Level 8 qualification recognised by SAQA in areas such as Transport Economics, Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Law, Risk Management, Economics, Business Management, Administration or Public Management.
- The position requires at least eight years of senior management experience in oversight of State-Owned Companies or public entities, together with successful completion of the National School of Government’s Senior Management Service Pre-Entry Programme.
- The successful candidate will provide strategic oversight of governance, shareholder compacts, financial and non-financial performance, risk management, audit outcomes and business enhancement initiatives involving transport State-Owned Companies.
2. Deputy Director-General: Road Transport

Salary: R1,885,710 – R2,124,237 per annum (Level 15), with 30% potentially structured according to individual needs
Location: Pretoria
- Applicants must have an NQF Level 8 qualification recognised by SAQA in Civil Engineering or Construction Studies, together with at least eight years of relevant senior management experience in road infrastructure management and development.
- Successful completion of the National School of Government’s Senior Management Service Pre-Entry Programme is also required.
- The position involves strategic management of road infrastructure planning and development, rural roads programmes, road grants, engineering standards, road safety, traffic regulation and related road transport policies and entities.
3. Chief Director: Driving Licence Card Account

Salary: R1,554,696 per annum, all-inclusive salary package
Location: Pretoria
Applicants must have an NQF Level 7 qualification recognised by SAQA in Operations Management, Production Management, Industrial Engineering or Business Management.
At least five years of relevant working experience at senior management level in a manufacturing or high-volume production environment is required, together with successful completion of the National School of Government’s Senior Management Service Pre-Entry Programme. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for driving licence card production, production operations, security and compliance, budgeting, procurement, risk management, financial reporting and overall management of the Driving Licence Card Account.
