About the Opportunity
The Communications & Digital Media Intern will support HakiElimu in creating engaging digital content, managing online communication activities, documenting events, and contributing to public engagement campaigns.
This opportunity is suitable for someone who enjoys storytelling, social media, photography, video production, graphic design, and exploring new digital communication trends.
Key Responsibilities
The successful intern will be responsible for:
- Creating engaging content for HakiElimu’s social media platforms and website.
- Capturing and editing photos and videos during events and organizational activities.
- Designing graphics using Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or similar design tools.
- Monitoring social media performance and suggesting creative improvements.
- Researching emerging digital communication trends and bringing fresh ideas.
- Supporting communication campaigns, events, and public engagement activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should have:
- A Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, IT, Computer Science, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Equivalent practical experience, a self-taught portfolio, or relevant certifications in graphic design, digital marketing, or content creation will also be considered.
- Creativity, curiosity, proactiveness, and the ability to generate new ideas.
- A strong interest in digital communication and storytelling.
- Good writing and content creation skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and current digital trends.
- Experience with Meta Business Suite, Buffer, or Hootsuite will be an added advantage.
- Ability to use Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express, or similar creative tools.
- Familiarity with WordPress or other website management platforms will be an advantage.
- Willingness to learn, collaborate, and contribute positively to the organization.
