Internship Purpose
The Compliance Intern will support the Compliance and Quality Assurance Department in evaluating whether WWF Tanzania projects and partner organizations comply with:
- Donor agreements and funding requirements.
- WWF policies and operational procedures.
- Laws and regulations of the United Republic of Tanzania.
- Internal control standards.
- Risk management requirements.
The internship aims to provide practical exposure to compliance monitoring, compliance auditing, risk assessments, and organizational governance.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance Reviews and Audits
The successful candidate will:
- Assist in planning and conducting compliance reviews and audits.
- Review financial and operational documentation to ensure donor compliance.
- Verify adherence to WWF policies and internal control procedures.
- Assess compliance with Tanzanian statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in field compliance assessments at project sites and partner organizations.
- Test procurement processes, payments, asset management procedures, and supporting documentation.
Documentation and Reporting
Responsibilities include:
- Organizing audit working papers and supporting documents.
- Compiling and analyzing compliance findings.
- Drafting compliance review reports.
- Documenting observations, risks, findings, and recommendations.
- Monitoring implementation of agreed corrective actions.
- Preparing periodic compliance monitoring reports for management.
Risk Management and Continuous Improvement
The Compliance Intern will also:
- Identify compliance risks and control weaknesses.
- Support compliance awareness activities within WWF Tanzania.
- Assist in improving compliance tools, methodologies, and review checklists.
- Support special compliance reviews and investigations when assigned.

Required Qualifications
