About the Water Tower Landscape Internship
The internship forms part of WWF Tanzania’s conservation work within the Water Tower Landscape, particularly the Great Ruaha River Catchment. The selected intern will support the implementation of the Her Resilient Our Planet (HROP) project, a six-year initiative focused on:
- Climate resilience
- Biodiversity conservation
- Climate-smart agriculture
- Sustainable livelihoods
- Women’s and youth empowerment
- Community-based natural resource management
The project is implemented in partnership with CARE International and several local organizations across Tanzania’s Southern Agricultural Growth Corridor (SAGCOT).

Key Responsibilities
The successful intern will assist the project team in implementing sustainable landscape management activities by:
- Supporting community tree planting initiatives.
- Assisting in establishing and maintaining tree nurseries.
- Supporting watershed management activities.
- Helping deliver community training on agroforestry and sustainable land management.
- Promoting climate-smart agriculture practices.
- Supporting alternative livelihood initiatives such as beekeeping and aquaculture.
- Assisting with village land-use planning activities.
- Supporting development of community conservation and restoration plans.
- Assisting with formation and training of school environmental clubs.
- Working closely with Local Government Authorities and community stakeholders.
- Supporting Community Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) initiatives.
- Carrying out additional duties assigned by the Project Executant.
Qualifications Required

Experience and Skills
