Tumaini University Makumira (TUMA) is a fully-fledged private university owned by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT). The university is located in Usa River, approximately 16 kilometres from Arusha City along the Arusha–Moshi Road.

One of its key outreach initiatives is the Participatory and Inclusive Teaching Approach (PITA) Project, implemented through the Faculty of Education, Humanities and Science. 1. Assistant Accountant
Key Responsibilities
- Process payments, receipts, and other financial transactions.
- Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records and financial reports.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general accounting reconciliations.
- Follow up on tax obligations and other compliance requirements.
- Assist in internal and external audit activities.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Diploma in Accountancy from a recognized institution.
- At least two years of relevant professional working experience.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Proficiency in at least one accounting software package such as QuickBooks or Pastel.
- High ethical standards and accountability.
PITA Project Vacancies
2. Guidance and Counselling Advisor
Key Responsibilities
Working alongside a team of educators, the successful candidate will:
- Develop in-service training modules covering school guidance and counselling frameworks.
- Mentor secondary school teachers on supporting students with academic, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
- Develop practical guidance and counselling manuals and toolkits for schools.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, Applied Social Psychology, or Master of Education in Educational Psychology from a recognized institution.
- Minimum GPA of 4.0 at Master’s level.
- Minimum GPA of 3.5 at undergraduate level.
- At least two years of relevant experience, preferably in educational institutions or school-based counselling.
- High ethical integrity and accountability.
3. Project Assistant
Key Responsibilities
The Project Assistant will support the Project Coordinator by:
- Coordinating meetings, workshops, and project events.
- Participating in community-based project activities.
- Managing project communication, administration, and documentation.
- Assisting in data collection, entry, analysis, monitoring, and evaluation activities.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development from a recognized institution.
- Minimum GPA of 3.5.
- At least two years of professional experience in project implementation, preferably within the education sector or NGOs.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High ethical integrity and accountability.
