Responsibilities
- Operate company light trucks to transport sand and other construction materials to designated project locations.
- Conduct vehicle inspections before and after each trip.
- Report mechanical faults and maintenance requirements promptly.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, trip records, and logbooks.
- Comply with company safety policies, environmental requirements, and traffic regulations.
- Coordinate with supervisors, loading teams, and site personnel during transport operations.
- Report accidents, delays, or operational incidents immediately.
Qualifications Required
- Valid Tanzanian Class C or Class E driving licence with at least two years remaining before expiry.
- Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with a minimum of four passes.
- Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) certificate.
- VETA Driving Certificate.
- Police approval and verification letter.
- Minimum of three years’ practical experience operating light trucks, particularly tipper trucks such as Howo, Shacman, FAW, and Hongvan.
- Clean driving record with no serious traffic offences or major accidents.
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations and vehicle inspection procedures.
- Physical fitness to work in remote locations and undertake long-distance driving assignments.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Kiswahili.
- Basic English communication skills will be an added advantage.
