Position: People Operations Assistant Officer
Location: Zanzibar (Unguja & Pemba), Tanzania
Job Summary
The People Operations Assistant Officer will support the organization’s human resource and people operations functions across Zanzibar. The successful candidate will assist with recruitment, onboarding, statutory compliance, employee administration, and community engagement while helping ensure employees receive the support they need to succeed.
The role requires someone who is organized, people-oriented, and committed to fostering a positive working environment.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Support recruitment and employee onboarding activities.
- Assist in managing people operations and administrative functions.
- Ensure compliance with Zanzibar labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with government agencies on employment-related matters.
- Support employee engagement and community outreach initiatives.
- Maintain accurate personnel records and HR documentation.
- Provide administrative support to the People Operations team.
- Promote effective communication across teams and support a positive workplace culture.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
Experience and Skills
Candidates should have:
- Experience in Human Resources, People Operations, or Administration.
- Strong understanding of Zanzibar labour laws and statutory compliance requirements.
- Experience working with government agencies and local communities.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in both English and Swahili.
- Experience working in the NGO or conservation sector will be an added advantage.
