Mechanical Technician – Mbeya Plant
Employment Type: Permanent Contract
Reporting To: Team Leader
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in manufacturing or extractive industries.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Reporting on required resources, time usage, job scope expansions, rework, and deferred maintenance activities.
- Conducting routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) checks, including vibration and temperature monitoring on designated rotating equipment.
- Accurately recording equipment readings and maintenance findings.
- Performing maintenance and repairs on static equipment, including valves, pipework, pressure vessels, and storage tanks.
- Applying sound engineering practices while ensuring compliance with standards, tolerances, and technical requirements.
- Conducting troubleshooting and preliminary Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment and machinery problems.
- Identifying and reporting emerging equipment issues.
- Executing planned mechanical maintenance activities while following all required safety standards.
Technical and Behavioural Competencies
Candidates should have:
- Mechanical upgrading skills, including fitting, welding, and turning.
- Knowledge of belt splicing technology, including cold repair, cold and hot splicing, pulley lagging, and belt alignment.
- Understanding of bearing technology and lubrication.
- Hands-on experience with industrial equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Electrical Technician – Mbeya Plant
Employment Type: Permanent Contract
Reporting To: Team Leader
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in manufacturing or extractive industries.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Installing, testing, and maintaining electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Troubleshooting electrical systems using testing equipment to identify faults and implement solutions.
- Diagnosing electrical circuit breakers, transformers, and other components to ensure effective operation.
- Inspecting electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and repair requirements.
- Testing electrical systems and circuit continuity using appropriate testing devices to ensure safety and compatibility.
- Repairing and replacing wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Installing ground leads and connecting power cables to equipment such as motors.
Technical and Behavioural Competencies
Applicants should have:
- Technical knowledge of cement manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of electrical maintenance operations and industrial equipment.
- Understanding of electricity distribution and transmission systems.
- Ability to multitask effectively.
- High level of integrity and self-discipline.
