KCMC University is inviting qualified, experienced, and motivated Tanzanian professionals to apply for two senior administrative positions. The university, owned by the Good Samaritan Foundation, is a fully-fledged higher learning institution dedicated to training healthcare professionals in clinical, biomedical, and allied health sciences.

Available Positions

1. Principal Estates Management Officer Grade I (1 Position)

KCMC University is looking for a highly qualified professional to oversee estates management and infrastructure development across the institution.

Educational Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in any of the following fields:
    • Estates Management
    • Property and Facilities Management
    • Real Estate Management
    • Building Engineering
    • Building Survey
    • Land Management and Valuation
    • Or other equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant working experience in a related position.

Key Skills Required

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical guidance on estates management.
  • Planning and supervising maintenance of university buildings and infrastructure.
  • Developing and implementing estates management strategies.
  • Reviewing policies and procedures related to estates management.
  • Coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance programmes.
  • Managing landscaping improvement projects.
  • Preparing development budgets and technical reports.
  • Negotiating contracts with service providers.
  • Supervising staff and contractors.
  • Monitoring construction projects and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Representing the University in matters related to estates management.
  • Performing other duties assigned by senior university management.

2. Principal Planning and Investment Officer Grade I (1 Position)

KCMC University is also seeking an experienced planning and investment professional to support strategic planning, investment management, and resource mobilization initiatives.

Educational Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • A Master’s Degree in one of the following fields:
    • Planning
    • Project Planning and Management
    • Finance and Investment
    • Development Planning and Management
    • Planning and Investment
    • Educational Planning and Management
    • Monitoring and Evaluation
    • Or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.

Additionally, candidates must have:

  • At least 12 years of work experience in a senior planning or investment position within a recognized university or institution.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support the University in three major areas:

Planning Functions

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating implementation of the University’s Corporate Strategic Plan.
  • Preparing annual and mid-term strategic reports.
  • Developing annual rolling strategic plans.
  • Coordinating preparation of the University Annual Report.
  • Collecting, compiling, and analyzing institutional data.
  • Preparing departmental budgets.
  • Monitoring implementation of annual work plans.

Investment Functions

The officer will also:

  • Develop and review investment strategies.
  • Prepare investment plans and project documents.
  • Monitor approved investment projects.
  • Assess investment risks.
  • Conduct research on investment opportunities.
  • Prepare investment performance reports.

Resource Mobilization Functions

Key duties include:

  • Supporting implementation of the University’s Resource Mobilization Strategy.
  • Preparing funding proposals.
  • Identifying donor and funding opportunities.
  • Establishing income-generating projects.
  • Monitoring resource mobilization initiatives.
  • Maintaining donor and partner databases.
  • Training staff on resource mobilization strategies.
  • Participating in stakeholder engagement and fundraising activities.
