Job Purpose
The Aviation Security Officer will be responsible for providing aviation security services required by customers and regulatory authorities. The role plays a critical part in protecting the aviation industry against unlawful acts, security threats, theft, and other criminal activities.
Successful candidates will perform a range of security-related duties, including access control, passenger and baggage screening, aircraft security checks, surveillance, and incident reporting.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidates will be responsible for:
- Detecting and reporting cases of fraud, theft, and suspicious activities.
- Preparing reports on daily security operations, incidents, irregularities, and damages.
- Conducting patrols within company facilities to prevent unauthorized access and ensure property security.
- Responding promptly to alarms and investigating disturbances.
- Monitoring and controlling the movement of employees, visitors, and other authorized personnel.
- Operating security screening equipment and detecting prohibited items.
- Inspecting security systems and equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Responding to security incidents and reporting findings to supervisors.
- Escorting vehicles transporting cash and valuable items to ensure safe delivery.
- Reporting suspicious individuals, activities, or movements.
- Recording and reporting near misses and incidents through SMT systems.
- Conducting passenger security questioning during the check-in process.
- Verifying travel documents, including passports, visas, tickets, and vaccination certificates.
- Requesting “OK to Board” authorization where document authenticity is in doubt.
- Coordinating with airline representatives regarding denied passengers.
- Verifying documents for transfer passengers.
- Conducting employee searches where suspicious activity is observed.
- Monitoring CCTV systems and investigating suspicious movements.
- Ensuring screened baggage and cargo remain secure before and after loading.
- Safeguarding company assets and ensuring proper use of equipment.
