Position: Technician Intern — Fibre Installation & Maintenance (50 Posts)

Purpose of the Role

The Technician Intern will support fibre optic installation and maintenance activities while gaining practical experience in a professional telecommunications environment.

The role is designed to provide exposure to fieldwork, technical operations, and teamwork, helping interns build strong foundational skills in fibre network systems. Performance during the internship may lead to permanent employment opportunities within the company.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Installation & Maintenance Duties

  • Assist in fibre optic cable installation, splicing, and termination
  • Support routine maintenance of fibre network infrastructure
  • Help identify and troubleshoot network faults under supervision
  • Ensure proper handling and care of tools, equipment, and safety gear

2. Technical Support

  • Work closely with engineers and senior technicians on field assignments
  • Conduct basic testing of fibre connections using standard tools
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used and tasks performed
  • Follow company procedures, safety standards, and technical guidelines

3. Learning & Development

  • Gain practical knowledge of fibre optic systems and network structures
  • Learn to operate testing equipment such as OTDR, power meters, and light sources
  • Develop skills in cable handling, connectors, and installation tools
  • Participate in training sessions, toolbox talks, and field demonstrations

4. Collaboration & Reporting
