1. Environmental Superintendent (1 Position)
Reports to: Environmental Manager
The Environmental Superintendent plays a vital role in ensuring that all environmental practices at the mine align with company policies and Tanzanian regulations. This position focuses on sustainability, compliance, and maintaining the company’s social license to operate.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement environmental management programs across operations
- Monitor environmental impacts and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with government authorities and stakeholders on environmental issues
- Maintain emergency response and contingency plans
- Coordinate environmental data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Provide training and guidance on environmental best practices
- Promote environmental awareness and community engagement initiatives
- Support budgeting and planning for environmental programs
- Update Environmental Management Systems and rehabilitation plans
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field
- Master’s degree is an added advantage
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in environmental management, preferably in mining
- At least 5 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of Tanzanian environmental and mining regulations
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills
2. Crane Lifting Superintendent (1 Position)
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
The Crane Lifting Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all crane and lifting operations on site, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all lifting equipment is safe, inspected, and properly commissioned
- Maintain lifting logs, inspection records, and equipment registers
- Supervise crane operators and rigging teams
- Plan and coordinate lifting schedules across site operations
- Ensure all lifting activities meet safety and engineering standards
- Assist in maintenance planning and breakdown management
- Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and HSE sessions
- Train and mentor staff to improve competency and safety awareness
- Implement emergency and contingency plans
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in crane/lifting operations
- Valid Heavy Combination (HC) and Heavy Rigid (HR) licenses
- Certificate III in Construction Crane Operations (CPC32912)
- Intermediate rigging certification and dogging license
- Ability to prepare load lift studies
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Flexible and proactive in dynamic environments
