1. Assistant Administrator – School Office

About the Role
The Assistant Administrator – School Office plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the school office. The successful candidate will support both teaching and administrative staff to ensure efficient and professional office operations.
This position is ideal for a highly organized individual who enjoys maintaining well-structured administrative systems and supporting educational activities.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
- Ensure the smooth running of the office so teaching and administrative staff can work efficiently.
- Maintain adequate office materials and stationery supplies.
- Ensure office equipment such as printers and photocopiers are fully operational with sufficient ink and paper.
- Assist teachers with printing examination papers before exams.
- Handle office purchasing requirements and distribute stationery to staff and students.
- Receive visitors and direct them to the relevant offices.
- Prepare monthly reports on stationery consumption, including photocopies, exercise books, pens, and printing.
- Update daily staff and student attendance on the Admin folder, email, and iSAMs system.
- Assist with filing student documents according to the approved checklist.
- Support scholarship application day logistics.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
- Diploma in Office Administration, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized and accredited college within East Africa.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably in an educational setting where English is the medium of instruction.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute (50 WPM) – this will be assessed.
2. Security Officer
About the Role
The School of St Jude is also seeking a professional and dedicated Security Officer to ensure the safety of students, staff, visitors, and property across its campuses. This role requires a vigilant and innovative individual who can effectively manage security operations while maintaining professionalism and strong collaboration with colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with the Manager – IT, Security, and Special Projects, the Security Officer will:
- Enforce school security policies and procedures.
- Assist administrators in preventing personal injury, property loss, and disruption of school activities.
- Develop and improve security procedures for the school.
- Supervise and participate in security patrols across buildings, grounds, and parking areas.
- Conduct random inspections during nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Supervise the third-party security firm and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Maintain high visibility during student and staff arrivals and departures while ensuring proper search procedures.
- Address altercations or disruptive behavior professionally and promptly.
- Document and report security incidents within 24 hours.
- Promote a culture of safety and awareness across the school community.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
- Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Security Management or Supervision
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar security role
Additional Requirements
- Registered as a Security Officer
- Valid Police Clearance Certificate
- Strong surveillance and observation skills
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills
- Working knowledge of public safety and security operations
- Knowledge of relevant Tanzanian laws and regulations
- Experience working in a school environment is an added advantage
Physical & Working Conditions
- Must be physically fit and able to stand or walk for long periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- May be required to work across multiple campuses within Arusha and respond to emergencies.
