1. Electrical & Mechanical Technician

Job Overview
Global Volunteers Organization is seeking a skilled Electrical & Mechanical Technician to oversee the inspection, maintenance, installation, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems. The successful candidate will also play a vital role in supporting facility operations and contributing to community-based technology initiatives under the organization’s programs.
This position requires a hands-on professional capable of working in diverse environments while ensuring that all systems operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and facilities.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical and mechanical systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults and system breakdowns.
- Maintain and service electrical medical equipment in the theatre.
- Repair and service a 22 KVA diesel generator.
- Support RCP Families technology projects, including the construction of chicken coops and fuel-efficient stoves.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Full Technical Certificate (FTC) or Diploma in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Ability to work in diverse environments and challenging conditions.
- Flexibility to perform additional duties, including construction-related work.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving and technical skills.

2. Driver
Location: Iringa, Kilolo

Global Volunteers is also seeking a responsible and experienced Driver to support daily transportation needs for staff, volunteers, and visitors. The ideal candidate must be comfortable operating vehicles in both urban and remote areas, including rough and challenging road conditions.
This role requires a dependable individual who values safety, punctuality, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport passengers safely and ensure timely arrivals.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and conduct daily basic vehicle inspections.
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Assist with airport pickups and transportation for field visits and trips when required.
Requirements
- Valid driving license.
- Proven driving experience.
- Ability to drive safely on rough and remote roads.
- Basic English communication skills.
- Honest, punctual, and professional character.
Added Advantage
- Basic mechanical or vehicle maintenance skills.
- Experience working with NGOs, tourists, or volunteers.
