As part of its expansion, FES is currently hiring for several positions across workshop, mechanical, electrical, and operations departments. Available Job Positions

1. Senior Mechanic (10 Posts)

Reporting to: Workshop Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on technical equipment and systems
  • Lead and mentor junior technicians to ensure high workmanship standards
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime
  • Liaise with lead preparation supervisors and clients to resolve technical issues
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities
  • Ensure adequate staffing for machine availability and workshop objectives
  • Coordinate technicians’ daily workflow and service schedules
  • Maintain good relationships with internal and external customers
  • Implement SHERQ standards in the workshop

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Machining, or related field
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of CNC machine operation is an added advantage
  • Strong teamwork and attention to detail

2. Junior Mechanic (5 Posts)

Reporting to: Field Services Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair mechanical and electrical machinery and equipment
  • Inspect and repair machinery according to schedules and supervisor instructions
  • Ensure FES policies and procedures are applied
  • Conduct troubleshooting inspections and repairs under supervision
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work
  • Support senior technicians and engineers
  • Follow all health and safety regulations

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or Diesel Machinery trade

Key Responsibilities:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Tanzanian citizen aged 18–25 years

Reporting to: Workshop Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fit and balance tyres on cars, trucks, and other vehicles
  • Inspect tyres for wear and damage
  • Repair punctures and conduct routine tyre maintenance
  • Operate tyre-fitting machines and wheel balancers
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years’ proven experience in a similar role
  • Customer service experience is required
  • VETA or equivalent training is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of tyre types, sizes, and repair methods
  • Physically fit and able to handle heavy equipment
  • Strong commitment to safety procedures

5. Auto Electrician (3 Posts)

Reporting to: Workshop Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose electrical faults using diagnostic tools and schematics

Minimum Requirements:

  • Manage job cards, timesheets, and workshop inventory records

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Challenger tractors and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Conduct routine inspections and basic machinery maintenance
  • Assist in land clearing, haulage, and site preparation tasks
  • Complete operational logs, checklists, and haulage reports accurately

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven experience operating Challenger equipment or similar tractors
  • Valid equipment operation certification/license
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in mining, agriculture, or construction
  • Strong troubleshooting understanding
  • Physically fit and willing to work in remote areas

9. Tractor Operators (43 Posts)

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate tractors safely and efficiently
  • Drive and perform regular maintenance and minor repairs
  • Inspect tractors and attachments (graders, rollers, etc.)
  • Transport materials and operate equipment for field preparation
  • Use laser levelling equipment for field preparation
  • Report faults and concerns to supervisors
  • Maintain alertness and follow speed limits at all times

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid driving license with Class G endorsement (for tractors)
  • At least 2 years’ experience operating agricultural machinery
  • Basic mechanical knowledge is an added advantage
  • Physically fit and able to work in remote environments

10. Sugar Harvester Operator (7 Posts)

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate sugarcane harvesting machinery efficiently and safely
  • Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance
  • Ensure scheduled harvesting to reduce losses and maintain quality
  • Identify operational faults and assist with basic repairs
  • Work closely with supervisors and teams to meet targets

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum Form IV education
  • Vocational training in agricultural machinery operation is an advantage
  • At least 2 years’ experience operating agricultural machinery (e.g., Case, John Deere)
  • Basic knowledge of sugarcane harvester maintenance
  • Ability to work long hours in field conditions
