UDA Rapid Transit Plc (UDART) is a company incorporated in Tanzania under the Companies Act No. 212 R.E. 2019 on 19 December 2014, with Certificate of Incorporation Number 113954. UDART operates as the Interim Bus Operator for Phase One of the Dar es Salaam Rapid Transit (DART) system, serving an average of approximately 165,000 passengers daily. To strengthen its operations, UDART invites qualified and competent individuals to apply for the position of Transport Officer.

Qualifications (Direct Entry)

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields from a recognized institution:

Transport Management
Logistics Management
Logistics and Supply Chain Management
Or any equivalent qualification

Duties and Responsibilities

The Transport Officer will be responsible for the following:

Conducting regular checks to ensure all vehicles are in good working condition
Supervising drivers and ensuring efficient use of resources to maximize productivity
Preparing monthly reports on individual driver performance for management action
Advising on the serviceability of vehicle equipment and recommending disposal of unserviceable or uneconomical equipment
Ensuring accurate maintenance of vehicle log sheets
Keeping electronic vehicle records, including total distance traveled
Maintaining high vehicle availability by minimizing downtime
Preparing technical reports, statistics, and documentation for vehicle maintenance reviews
Developing transport safety guidelines, driving manuals, and internal repair and maintenance guidelines
Preparing driver training proposals in line with company policies
Developing performance measurement tools for effective driver performance management
Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
