Position Overview
Union Meat Group is seeking a detail-oriented and integrity-driven Store Officer – Meat Stock Control to oversee meat inventory management, cold-chain storage, reporting, and loss prevention within our processing facility. This role is critical in ensuring accurate stock control and compliance with food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Receiving meat stock from the abattoir and verifying weights, quantities, and supporting documents against delivery notes and reports.
- Ensuring proper storage of meat products in freezers in line with cold-chain requirements, applying FIFO/FEFO principles at all times.
- Releasing stock for sales based on approved requisitions and ensuring all dispatch documentation is accurate and complete.
- Maintaining precise stock records, preparing daily stock reports, and conducting regular stock reconciliations.
- Supporting food safety compliance measures and preventing losses through effective access control, monitoring, and accountability procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Diploma or Certificate in Procurement & Logistics, Store Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in store or inventory management, preferably within the food or meat processing industry.
- High level of integrity with strong attention to detail.
- Good understanding of cold-chain management.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to prepare clear and accurate reports.
