Main Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for operating heavy machinery and ensuring proper equipment performance. Key duties include:
- Operating machines under the supervision of a senior and experienced machine operator.
- Cleaning and maintaining machines regularly.
- Performing minor mechanical repairs and basic maintenance.
- Inspecting machines before and after operation to ensure safety and functionality.
- Carrying out any other duties assigned by supervisors or municipal authorities.
Machines to Be Operated
The recruited operators will work with road construction and earth-moving equipment such as:
- Motor Grader (Greda) – for road leveling
- Excavator – for digging and loading
- Road Roller – for compaction work

Qualifications and Requirements
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Nationality & Age
- Must be a Tanzanian citizen.
- Age must be between 18 and 45 years.
- Education
- Must have completed Form IV or Form VI education.
- Driving License
- Must possess a Class G Driving License for operating heavy machinery.
- Professional Training
- Must have completed a Basic Driving Course from VETA or another government-recognized training institution.
- Experience
- Must have proven experience in operating the specified machines.
- Should have operated machinery for at least 300 continuous hours or three months without causing accidents.
- Must be skilled in using various machine control systems.
Salary Scale
The position falls under the Government Salary Scale TGOS “A”, paid on a monthly basis in accordance with public service salary regulations.
