Volunteer Cashier – Job Advert
TMHS Group is seeking a competent, detail-oriented, and honest Volunteer Cashier to assist with financial transactions and record keeping within its safety equipment shop. This role is ideal for individuals with an accounting or finance background who are willing to gain practical experience while contributing to organizational operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration (Accounting), or a related field
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial record keeping
- Previous experience as a cashier or in finance/accounts will be an added advantage
- Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer applications (MS Excel, Word)
- Good communication skills in both Swahili and English
- Must be a Tanzanian
- Willingness to work on a voluntary basis
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and accountability
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and handle pressure
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process customer payments (cash, mobile money, bank transfers, etc.)
- Issue receipts and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales and cash reports
- Reconcile cash collected with sales records and system reports
- Maintain proper filing of financial documents and receipts
- Assist in basic bookkeeping and updating financial records
- Support stock and sales reconciliation when required
- Handle customer payment inquiries professionally
- Report any discrepancies or financial issues to management promptly
Volunteer Safety Attendant – Job Advert
TMHS Group is also looking for a motivated and responsible Volunteer Safety Attendant to support customer service, safety awareness, and sales operations at its safety equipment shop. This role suits individuals with a background in occupational health, safety, or related fields who have an interest in safety promotion and customer engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of safety equipment and their usage (PPE, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, safety signs, etc.)
- Experience in selling safety equipment with proven sales ability
- Good communication skills in both Swahili and English
- Must be a Tanzanian
- Basic computer skills will be an added advantage
- High level of discipline, honesty, and responsibility
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers in identifying and selecting appropriate safety equipment
- Provide basic guidance on the proper use of safety products
- Actively promote and sell safety equipment
- Ensure safety equipment is well arranged, labeled, and properly stored
- Maintain cleanliness and order within the shop
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or damaged items
- Support sales and inventory record keeping when required
- Promote safety awareness among customers
- Report any incidents or operational challenges to the supervisor
