Available Position

The recruitment is for the position of: Immigration Constable (Askari wa Uhamiaji) Successful candidates will undergo mandatory initial training at Immigration training institutions before official deployment across various duty stations in Tanzania.

General Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following key requirements:

  • Must be a citizen of Tanzania
  • Must be unemployed and not previously dismissed from any government institution
  • Must possess a valid birth certificate
  • Must have a National ID (NIDA) or NIDA number
  • Must be physically and mentally fit
  • Must not use drugs or prohibited substances
  • Must have no criminal record
  • Must have no tattoos or body marks
  • Female applicants must not be pregnant at the time of application
  • Must be willing to attend initial Immigration training
  • Must be ready to work anywhere in Tanzania
  • Must agree to comply with all recruitment and employment procedures

Age and Education Requirements

Eligibility is also determined by education level and age as follows:

  • Form Four (O-Level) graduates:
    Age between 18 and 22 years
  • Certificate and Diploma holders:
    Age between 18 and 25 years
  • Bachelor’s Degree and above:
    Age between 18 and 30 years

Priority Fields and Special Skills

Priority will be given to applicants with qualifications from recognized institutions in the following fields:

  • Foreign Languages
  • Law
  • Economics
  • Information Technology (Cyber Security, Database Development, System Development)
  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
  • Medical fields
  • Records and Archives Management
  • Procurement and Logistics
  • Printing Technology
  • Psychology
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Plumbing
  • Air Conditioning (AC)
  • Mechanical and Automotive Engineering
  • Music (Brass Band)

Applicants with automotive engineering and mechanical skills will also receive special consideration.

  • Index numbers for Form Four and Form Six
  • TCU verification number (for degree holders)
  • NACTVET verification number (for certificate and diploma holders)
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Professional registration certificates where applicable

Each document must be uploaded separately, and each PDF file must not exceed 300KB.
