The Tanzania Sunflower Processors Association (TASUPA) is a national membership organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the interests of sunflower oil processors across Tanzania. TASUPA works to strengthen the sunflower value chain through policy advocacy, capacity building, quality assurance, and market development, contributing to a competitive, sustainable, and high-quality edible oil industry.
To enhance its institutional capacity and service delivery to members, TASUPA invites applications from qualified and motivated professionals for the following positions:
1. ADMIN AND FINANCE OFFICER
Position Overview
The Admin and Finance Officer will be responsible for managing TASUPA’s financial systems and providing administrative support to ensure effective operations, compliance, and accountability. The role involves budgeting, accounting, procurement, payroll, and office administration.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare timely financial reports
- Manage budgets and monitor expenditure
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash flow
- Ensure compliance with tax, social security, and donor requirements
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Administrative Support
- Manage office operations, procurement, inventory, and assets
- Maintain proper filing systems
- Support HR functions including payroll and staff records
- Coordinate logistics for meetings and events
Compliance and Governance
- Support audits and implement audit recommendations
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- CPA or ACCA is an added advantage
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in finance and administration
- Knowledge of Tanzanian tax and labor laws
- Experience in NGO, association, or donor-funded projects is desirable
2. FOOD TECHNOLOGIST OFFICER
Position Overview
The Food Technologist Officer will provide technical expertise in food safety, quality assurance, and product development to sunflower oil processors. The role focuses on improving quality standards, innovation, and compliance with national and international regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Develop and implement quality control systems
- Ensure compliance with TBS, TFDA, and international food safety standards
- Conduct audits and inspections of member facilities
- Prepare compliance reports and corrective action plans
Technical Support and Capacity Building
- Provide technical advice on processing, storage, and packaging
- Conduct training on food safety, hygiene, and quality assurance
- Promote adoption of improved technologies and best practices
Product Development and Innovation
- Support development and improvement of sunflower-based products
- Advise on fortification, shelf-life extension, and value addition
- Promote sustainable and climate-resilient processing methods
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in food processing or quality assurance
- Knowledge of food safety standards and audit systems
- Experience in training and technical advisory roles
- Knowledge of edible oil processing is an added advantage
3. GENERAL MANAGER (GM)
Position Overview
The General Manager will provide overall strategic leadership and operational oversight of TASUPA. The GM will manage daily operations, lead advocacy and partnerships, mobilize resources, and ensure effective implementation of TASUPA’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement TASUPA’s strategic plan
- Identify growth and competitiveness opportunities for members
- Provide leadership on industry trends and innovation
Operational Management
- Oversee finance, human resources, compliance, and governance
- Prepare performance and impact reports for the Board
Advocacy and Representation
- Represent TASUPA in policy dialogues and stakeholder forums
- Advocate for supportive policies for sunflower processing
Member Engagement and Partnerships
- Strengthen member relations and services
- Build partnerships with government, development partners, and private sector
- Mobilize financial and technical resources
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
- Master’s degree is an added advantage
- Minimum 2–5 years’ leadership experience in agribusiness or association management
- Strong understanding of agricultural value chains, especially oilseeds
- Excellent leadership, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement skills
