The Songwe Region Co-operative Union (SORECU Ltd) has officially announced a range of temporary job opportunities aimed at supporting the management of sesame (ufuta) collections under the Warehouse Receipt System. This initiative is being implemented in collaboration with AMCOS (Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Societies) across Songwe and Momba districts.
The recruitment drive is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen agricultural value chains, improve storage systems, and ensure efficient and transparent payment processes for farmers. SORECU Ltd is inviting applications for several temporary roles, including:
- Operations Manager / Field Officer (2 positions)

Each role is essential to ensuring smooth coordination of sesame collection, storage, and farmer payments.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for a variety of operational tasks depending on their role. These include supervising warehouse activities, managing the movement of sesame from primary societies to central warehouses, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and maintaining the safety of stored produce.
Other duties involve supporting AMCOS leaders in using digital weighing systems, preparing financial reports, managing farmer payments, and ensuring compliance with financial procedures. Staff will also be expected to assist farmers directly, resolve challenges at payment centers, and provide guidance on record management.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants must have at least a Certificate of Secondary Education (Form Four) or higher. Additional qualifications such as experience in warehouse operations or possession of a Warehouse Receipt Regulatory Board (WRRB) certificate will be an added advantage.
Candidates applying for finance-related roles must demonstrate basic accounting skills and computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel. All applicants should be trustworthy, disciplined, and capable of working independently in rural environments.

To qualify, applicants must:
- Be between 18 and 45 years old
- Be residents of the district where the warehouse is located
- Possess a valid identification document (NIDA, voter ID, or driver’s license)
- Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
- Be willing to work in rural settings
Preference will be given to applicants residing in the same village or ward where the warehouse is located.
