Position: Documentation and Terminal Vessels Agent

Duty Station: Tanga Port
The Documentation and Terminal Vessels Agent will play a key role in coordinating vessel operations at the port, ensuring proper documentation, compliance with regulations, and smooth vessel movement during arrival and departure.
The successful candidates will work closely with port authorities, customs officials, shipping companies, and terminal operators to ensure that all vessel and cargo operations are handled efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be expected to perform the following duties:
1. Documentation and Boarding
Prepare and manage all necessary vessel documentation and ensure that ship crew and officials receive proper assistance when vessels arrive at port.
2. Vessel Call Creation
Create and manage vessel call records within the port system to ensure accurate scheduling and coordination of ship movements.
3. Cargo Safety Monitoring
Ensure that cargo operations follow safety procedures and comply with maritime regulations to prevent accidents or damage.
4. Coordination with Port Authorities
Work closely with port authorities and relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and operational efficiency.
5. Smooth Vessel Departure
Facilitate the timely departure of vessels by ensuring all required documentation and clearances are completed.
6. Customs Compliance
Ensure that all cargo and vessel documentation comply with customs regulations and legal requirements.
7. Shipment Tracking
Monitor cargo movement and shipment progress to ensure timely delivery and accurate reporting.
8. Record Keeping
Maintain accurate records of vessel calls, cargo details, documentation, and operational activities for reference and reporting.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in a relevant field such as Logistics, Shipping, Maritime Studies, Transport Management, or related disciplines
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience in shipping, logistics, port operations, or a related field
- Valid Driving License – Class B or D
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic port environment
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
