Job Summary
The Relief and Partnerships Coordinator will play a pivotal role in managing humanitarian response operations and strengthening strategic partnerships with INGOs, UN agencies, and other stakeholders. The position focuses on ensuring high-quality emergency programming, driving proposal development, engaging donors, and expanding collaborative opportunities to maximize humanitarian impact in Tanzania.
Key Responsibilities
1. Emergency Response & Humanitarian Programming
The role involves leading emergency response efforts across the country, including:
- Conducting rapid needs assessments in collaboration with local authorities and partners
- Designing and implementing emergency projects (food aid, shelter, WASH, health services)
- Ensuring inclusion of vulnerable populations such as women, children, elderly, and persons with disabilities
- Managing logistics, security, and contingency planning
- Overseeing transparent distribution of food and non-food items (NFIs)
- Integrating safeguarding and Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) standards
- Establishing beneficiary feedback and complaint mechanisms
2. Project Planning, Finance & Reporting
The coordinator will ensure effective planning and accountability through:
- Developing project proposals, budgets, and concept notes aligned with QC guidelines
- Managing project finances and ensuring compliance with donor regulations
- Preparing detailed reports including progress updates, situation reports, and impact stories
- Maintaining accurate databases for beneficiaries and project resources
- Documenting lessons learned and best practices for future programming
3. Partnership Development & Consortium Building
A key part of the role is expanding collaboration opportunities by:
- Identifying and pursuing partnerships with INGOs and UN agencies
- Leading proposal development for joint initiatives and consortium projects
- Exploring donor funding opportunities for emergency and development programs
- Supporting the creation of partnership agreements and MOUs
- Ensuring QC priorities are well represented in collaborative frameworks
4. Coordination, Representation & Networking
The successful candidate will:
- Represent Qatar Charity in coordination meetings, clusters, and inter-agency forums
- Liaise with government institutions and humanitarian actors
- Participate in joint assessments and strategic planning sessions
- Promote QC’s humanitarian initiatives within relevant networks
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Humanitarian Studies, International Relations, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related field
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is an added advantage
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years in humanitarian programming or emergency response
- Experience in proposal writing, donor engagement, and partnership development
- Familiarity with humanitarian standards such as Sphere, CHS, and Do No Harm principles
Technical Competencies
- Strong project design and budget development skills
- Knowledge of humanitarian coordination systems and cluster mechanisms
- Experience in needs assessments, reporting, and data management
- Understanding of safeguarding and protection frameworks
