The Executive Director of the Maswa District Council has announced to all qualified Tanzanian citizens the availability of fourteen (14) job vacancies within the council. This recruitment follows official authorization granted by the Office of the President – Public Service Management and Good Governance, enabling the council to proceed with hiring in accordance with public service regulations.

The announcement invites eligible and competent applicants to apply for positions distributed across two main job categories: Drivers Grade II and Office Management Secretaries Grade II. These opportunities are part of the council’s efforts to strengthen service delivery and improve administrative and operational efficiency within its jurisdiction.

Drivers Grade II (10 Positions)

The council is seeking ten (10) qualified drivers who will play a key role in supporting official transportation and logistics.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting vehicles before and after journeys to ensure safety.
  • Transporting staff to various official assignments.
  • Performing minor vehicle maintenance.
  • Distributing and collecting official documents.
  • Recording and maintaining accurate trip logs (log books).
  • Ensuring cleanliness of assigned vehicles.

Applicant Qualifications:
Applicants must have completed Form Four education and possess a valid Class C or E driving license with at least one year of driving experience without causing accidents. Candidates must also hold relevant certification for the required driving class and must have completed basic driving training from recognized institutions such as VETA or other government-recognized training centers.

Salary Scale: Government salary scale TGS B.

Office Management Secretary Grade II (4 Positions)

Four (4) positions are available for Office Management Secretaries to support administrative and clerical functions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Typing letters, reports, and various official documents.
  • Receiving and assisting visitors with inquiries.
  • Handling files, including receiving, organizing, storing, and retrieving them.
  • Locating and providing documents or files required by supervisors.
  • Performing any other duties assigned by supervisors.

Applicant Qualifications:
Applicants should be Form Four or Form Six graduates with:

  • NTA Level 6 certificate or equivalent secretarial training.
  • Passed secretarial examinations up to stage three.
  • Typing speed of at least 120 words per minute in both Kiswahili and English.
  • Computer skills training in Windows, Microsoft Office, internet, email, and publishing from a recognized institution.

Salary Scale: Government salary scale TGS C.

  • Must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years.
