1. HEAD OF OPERATIONS – TANZANIA

Job Overview

  • Job Title: Head of Operations, Tanzania
  • Department: Supply Chain & Operations
  • Reporting Line: Managing Director – Tanzania
  • Location: Arusha, Tanzania
  • Job Grade: 18

Job Purpose

The Head of Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing end-to-end country operations to ensure product availability, operational efficiency, compliance, and alignment between supply and demand across Tanzania.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO 9001/14001, NEMC, fire and safety, and insurance reporting standards
  • Plan and forecast budgets in collaboration with Commercial, Finance, Credit, and Service Assurance teams
  • Implement and monitor supply chain KPIs and operational performance metrics
  • Drive supply chain policies, procedures, and risk management practices
  • Manage product launches, pricing, placement, and end-of-life reverse logistics
  • Oversee warehousing, distribution, stock reshuffles, and cost optimization
  • Maintain stock discrepancies below 0.5% monthly through strict controls and audits
  • Coordinate import and export logistics, including shipments from China and other regions
  • Build and manage partnerships with suppliers, logistics providers, insurers, and government institutions
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate departmental staff performance and development
  • Support company revenue growth and asset management

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years managing teams in supply chain, logistics, or operations leadership roles
  • At least 2 years hands-on experience in distribution, inventory, or technical operations
  • Master’s degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related fields
  • Professional certifications such as CILT, CIPS, CSCP, PSPTB, NBMM are highly preferred
  • Strong financial, analytical, and business acumen
  • Comprehensive knowledge of EA import/export laws, TBS, TRA, TPA, and EAC regulations
  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as Microsoft NAV, SAP, Odoo, MRP I & II, and Microsoft Office tools

2. WAREHOUSE OFFICER (NEW PRODUCTS)

Job Overview

  • Job Title: Warehouse Officer (New Products)
  • Department: Operations – Country Office
  • Reporting Line: Warehouse and Workshop Manager
  • Location: Arusha NW

Job Purpose

The Warehouse Officer is responsible for managing warehousing operations for new (unused) products, ensuring safe handling, accurate inventory records, and compliance with warehouse management standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and manage warehouse storage using FIFO principles
  • Ensure accurate stock movements and documentation in database systems
  • Report and document incoming shipments, including containers and airfreight
  • Prepare products for planned and emergency distributions
  • Track and report inventory usage of TV spare parts (screens and motherboards)
  • Conduct weekly and monthly stock reconciliations and reports
  • Maintain warehouse safety, cleanliness, and equipment functionality
  • Implement continuous improvement practices (Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma)
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and inventory management standards

Requirements

  • University degree in Logistics, Operations Management, or related fields
  • Minimum 2 years experience in logistics or warehouse operations
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and database applications
  • Knowledge of DMS Logistics, CILT, or CIPS is an advantage
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili
  • Valid professional driving license as per Tanzanian law
