1. Scholarship Overview
The Chinese Government Scholarship covers studies at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels in various fields offered by Chinese universities. The program is open to Tanzanian citizens who meet the academic, age, and health requirements set by both the Chinese Government and the United Republic of Tanzania.
2. Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Be a citizen of the United Republic of Tanzania;
- Have good academic performance;
- Be not more than 25 years of age for undergraduate programs and not more than 35 years for Master’s degree programs at the time of application;
- Applicants for PhD programs must hold a Master’s degree and be under 40 years of age;
- Possess a valid passport or proof that an application for a passport has been submitted;
- Be in good physical and mental health.
3. Application Requirements
Applicants are required to submit certified photocopies of the following documents:
- A completed Chinese Government Scholarship application form, filled in either English or Chinese;
- Certified copies of relevant academic certificates (CSEE, ACSEE, Diploma, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree). Documents not in English or Chinese must be accompanied by certified translations;
- Certified academic transcripts with English or Chinese translations where applicable;
- A Study Plan or Research Proposal written in English or Chinese:
- Minimum 200 words for undergraduate applicants;
- 500 words for non-degree students;
- 800 words for postgraduate applicants;
- Two recommendation letters (for postgraduate applicants only) written in English or Chinese by Professors or Associate Professors;
- Applicants for art or design-related programs must submit samples of their own work through the system and directly to the applied universities;
- Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must submit valid HSK results according to the required level;
- Applicants for programs taught in other languages must provide relevant language proficiency certificates, such as IELTS or TOEFL, as required by the university;
- Certified copy of a birth certificate;
- Applicants under 18 years of age must submit valid legal guardian documents from China;
- Applicants intending to stay in China for more than six months must submit a photocopy of a Foreign Physical Examination Form completed in English;
- Applicants for Master’s, PhD, and scholar programs must attach admission or pre-admission documents issued by the applied universities;
- A valid Non-Criminal Record Certificate issued within six months prior to application submission;

4. Specific Instructions on How to Apply
Applicants must complete the online application process through the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System by following these steps:
Step 1: Visit https://www.campuschina.org, click on “Scholarship Application Online for International Students”, create an account, and log in.
Step 2: Fill in all personal details accurately, verify, save, and proceed to the application section.
Step 3: Select Program Category: Type A.
Step 4: Enter the correct Agency Number: 8341. Once entered correctly, the agency name will appear automatically.
Step 5: Complete the Language Proficiency and Study Plan section and upload all required supporting documents, then submit the application.
Step 6: If corrections are needed, use Withdrawal and Edit, then re-submit the application to keep it valid.
Step 7: Print and download the completed application form.
Step 8: Submit the scholarship application according to the requirements of the dispatching authority.
Step 9: Send the printed application form and all supporting documents to the address below not later than Friday, 30 January 2026.
5. Important Notes
- Applicants are advised to use Firefox or Internet Explorer 11.0 when applying.
- Applications with an incorrect agency number will be automatically disqualified.
