Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the position of Cashier (Revenue Clerk), applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
- Computer literacy
- No criminal record
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to work under pressure
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Ability to show initiative and innovative thinking to improve service delivery
These requirements ensure that successful candidates can effectively handle financial transactions and provide quality service to the public.
Key Responsibilities
Cashiers will be responsible for a variety of administrative and financial tasks, including:
- Processing motor vehicle licence renewals
- Performing daily cash-ups and reconciliations
- Filing and securing revenue-related documentation
- Capturing and processing transactions using the National Traffic Information System (NaTIS)
- Responding to general enquiries and NaTIS-related client queries
- Maintaining high professional and ethical standards
Successful candidates will also be required to:
- Sign a confidentiality agreement
- Comply with the National Code of Conduct
- Adhere to the Public Service Disciplinary Code and Procedures
- Complete the NaTIS Undertaking (NUU)
