Dreaming of studying abroad? The Government of the Republic of Belarus, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Tanzania, is offering state-funded study placements (partial scholarships) for the 2026/2027 academic year, Belarus Government Scholarships 2026 for Tanzanian Students.

This prestigious program welcomes Tanzanian citizens who wish to pursue undergraduate, master’s, or PhD studies at top public universities in Belarus — a beautiful, safe, and affordable European destination for international students.

Available Fields of Study

Applicants can choose from a wide range of academic disciplines across Belarusian public universities and colleges.

Eligibility Criteria & Admission Requirements

Undergraduate (Bachelor’s Degree):

  • Must have completed CSEE and ACSEE with strong academic performance.
  • Admission depends on the evaluation by the host university.

Master’s Degree:

  • Must hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree with good academic standing.

Doctoral (PhD):

  • Must hold a relevant Master’s degree.

Language Requirement:

  • Most programs are taught in Russian or Belarusian.
  • Students without language proficiency may need to take a preparatory language course (self-funded).

Scholarship Benefits

Successful candidates will enjoy the following Belarus Government Scholarship benefits:

  • Full tuition fee waiver (covered by the Belarusian government)

Costs Not Covered

Students must personally fund the following:

  • International air travel
  • Meals and daily living expenses
  • Health insurance
  • Visa fees and migration registration costs

Important: The Government of Tanzania will not provide any additional financial support. Applicants should ensure they have adequate personal or sponsor funding to cover the above costs.

Required Documents

All applicants must submit the following documents (with notarized translations into Russian or Belarusian where required):

  1. Signed application letter, indicating field of study and motivation.
  2. Certified copies of academic certificates and transcripts (or proof of current student status).
  3. Copy of a valid passport or national ID.
  4. Language proficiency certificate (if available).
  5. Medical fitness certificate and HIV test results from a recognized health facility.
  6. Recommendation or character reference (if applicable).
  7. Proof of Belarusian origin (if applicable).
  8. Any other supporting documents that may enhance your application.

Application Procedure

Stage 1 – Submission via the Embassy of Belarus

Applications must be submitted through the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Nairobi, Kenya, which is accredited to Tanzania.

Stage 2 – University Interview and Selection

  • Shortlisted candidates will be informed by 20 May 2026.
  • Interviews and language assessments will take place by 15 June 2026 (online or in person).
  • Successful applicants will receive official admission letters for visa processing.
