Key Responsibilities
Vehicle and Driver Management
- Manage and coordinate company vehicles and drivers efficiently
- Ensure compliance with road safety regulations, company procedures, and work discipline
- Supervise driver performance and adherence to operational standards
Transport Scheduling
- Plan and manage daily transport schedules
- Design efficient routes, coordinate vehicle dispatch, and track trips
- Ensure timely delivery and optimal use of company vehicles
Fuel and Vehicle Maintenance Management
- Monitor fuel consumption and control operational costs
- Oversee preventive maintenance and handle emergency repairs
- Work closely with mechanics and external maintenance service providers
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
- Diploma or Degree in any of the following fields:
- Transport and Logistics Management
- Supply Chain Management
- Business Administration
- Mechanical Engineering
Additional Training
- Certificate from recognized institutions such as NIT or VETA will be an added advantage, particularly in vehicle maintenance
Work Experience
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in transport-related roles or vehicle management
Professional Knowledge
- Experience in monitoring fuel usage
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices
- Ability to plan routes and improve transport efficiency
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with vehicle management systems or GPS tracking systems (e.g. Geotab, SAP)
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Good communication and negotiation skills with service providers
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Additional Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
