About the Role
The Accountant will play an important role in overseeing financial processes, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring that the organization meets all regulatory and financial reporting requirements. The successful candidate will also support procurement operations and manage certain administrative functions within the organization.
This role requires strong accounting expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with different teams.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for a range of financial and administrative tasks, including:
- Preparing accurate financial statements, tax returns, and management reports
- Maintaining financial records, accounting ledgers, and performing bank reconciliations
- Developing budgets, monitoring expenditure, and preparing financial forecasts
- Analyzing financial data to identify risks and recommend cost-saving measures
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and relevant legal regulations
- Managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
- Overseeing site-level procurement and ensuring adherence to procurement policies
- Supervising security and administrative teams while ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Qualifications and Experience Required
To qualify for this role, applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Professional accounting certification such as CPA, ACCA, or an equivalent qualification
- At least 3 years of active accounting experience
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of the Sage Evolution Accounting Package
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in leading or supervising teams within diverse cultural environments
- Must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to Siha, Kilimanjaro
