1. CIP Study Abroad Scholarships 2026
The CIP Study Abroad Scholarships provide flexible financial support for students participating in Fall, Summer I, or Summer II 2026 programs. With a single application, students can apply for all scholarships in this category — though only one may be awarded. Application Deadline: March 6, 2026
These scholarships aim to make study abroad experiences more accessible, promoting leadership, cultural understanding, and academic growth for all eligible USI students.
2. USI Study Abroad Ambassador Scholarship
This scholarship is designed for students who not only study abroad but also help promote global education within the USI community.
Award Amounts:
- $2,000 for a full academic year
- $1,500 for one semester and also
- Up to $1,000 for summer or short-term programs
Eligibility:
- Open to USI students accepted into an approved study abroad program for academic credit.
- Recipients must return to USI and complete ambassador projects within six months of their program.
3. USI Global Engagement Scholarship
The Global Engagement Scholarship supports students tackling major global challenges such as climate change, poverty, education, sustainability, public health, and human rights.
Award Amount: Up to $3,000
Eligibility:
- Must be enrolled in a USI study abroad program for academic credit.
- Students must commit to a Global Engagement Project that addresses a global issue abroad, also
- Project requirements must be completed within six months after returning to USI.
4. USI Study Abroad Diversity Scholarship
USI is committed to making global education accessible for everyone. The Diversity Scholarship supports students from diverse backgrounds, ensuring inclusive participation in international learning.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be a degree-seeking USI student in good academic standing.
- Open to all majors and class levels participating in USI-approved short-term, semester, or year-long programs.
- Diversity may include cultural background, gender identity, disability, military experience, parental status, or ethnic/racial identity. and also
- Awards are based on essays and interviews, not GPA or financial need.
5. Direct Exchange Scholarships
For students participating in exchange programs, USI offers Direct Exchange Scholarships to help cover study costs at partner universities.
Exchange Program Scholarship:
- Award: $500
- Open to USI students earning credit at a direct exchange partner institution (excluding ISEP).
German Partner Exchange Scholarship:
- Total Funding: $10,000 (four scholarships worth $2,500 each) also
- Eligibility: Open to students in semester-long exchange programs at partner universities in Germany.
